Free All-Day Kindergarten

Hello, Timnath families:

As many of you might have heard, Gov. Jared Polis’ office recently announced that the State of Colorado will, starting next school year, fully fund all-day kindergarten.

What does that mean for you and PSD? Families will no longer pay PSD kindergarten tuition for the full-day programs (half-day programs are currently free). PSD will, starting in the 2019-20 school year, receive full state funding based upon the total number of students enrolled in all-day kindergarten.

If you have a child currently enrolled in either our full- or half-day kindergarten programs, or you have a child who will enroll in kindergarten in the coming years, check out the resource sheet attached here (click here for Spanish)to learn more about this change and for answers to frequently asked questions. You may also go online to PSD’s website at www.psdschools.org/schools/school-registration/kindergarten registration for more information.

Parents and guardians who have registered their child for half-day kindergarten will be able to enroll their child in a full-day kindergarten program. Please contact your child’s school as soon as possible to discuss the change.

Thank you for your continued support of Timnath Elementary. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me with questions about this or other topics.

Sincerely,

Timnath Elementary
