About Me
Biographical Sketch:

Hello Timnath Families!

This will be my first year as a Timnath Cub! I grew up in Fort Collins and was also a student of PSD, so am very excited to be teaching in the same district that I received my early education from. My parents both still live in Fort Collins and I have one brother who is in Loveland and works for Poudre Fire Authority. I have one fur baby named Addie that I adopted this last summer. She is a spunky terrier mix that loves peanut butter and to play! I am extrememly excited to be a part of the Timnath community and get to know all the students and families in this coming school year!

Educational Background:

I graduated from the University of South Dakota studying Art with a minor in Art History and Spanish, and received my Masters in Education at Colorado State University.

Why I enjoy teaching:

Everything I have done after graduating college has revolved around working with children! I love having the opportunity to work with others and teach, as well as be taught, by my students! It never ceases to amaze me how much creativity and imagination I see in my students. All of the staff and families of Timnath have been so welcoming and I am so excited to be able to begin my teaching career as a Cub!

Interests & Hobbies:

Obviously I love anything to do with art making! In my spare time you can often find me making pottery at Smokestack Pottery down in old town. Soccer has also been a huge part of my life and still a big hobbie of mine. I also grew up playing soccer for Arsenal, played for my University's team, as well as the Women's Rapids team. I coached for Rapids (previously Storm) for several years and still play in co-ed leagues today! In the winter I am a big snowboarder and even taught children snowboard lessons for Vail ski school during the winte for 4 years and continue to get my days on the hill teaching part time in the winter.

What I love about my school:

Timnath has a lot of history in the building, and I had so much fun creating a unique space for the Art room in the one room school house! I have heard nothing but good about the Timnath community, students, and staff and have experienced nothing less! I am excited to learn and be a part of the traditions and culture that makes Timnath unique!

My Classroom
Courses Taught:

"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls" - Picasso

About My Classroom:

My Art room is in the original one room school house! I am excited to have a space where students can explore new materials and techniques and create their own art masterpieces! I spent a lot of time over the summer making the space my own and creating a colorful environment where student's creative juices can flow!
