About Me
Biographical Sketch:

I grew up in San Luis Obispo, California where I loved riding my bike to the beach and going to the weekly Farmers Market. I took a risk and went to Colorado State University even though I didn't know anyone in Colorado. After 13 years, I am happy to call Fort Collins home. We are so lucky to have a wonderful area to live and explore!

Before finding my home at Timnath Elementary, I have had the opportunity to be at Range View in Severance, and Kruse in Fort Collins. At these schools, I have worked with students ranging from second to fifth grade.

Educational Background:

MA in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado

BA in Communication Studies and Business from Colorado State University - Go Rams!

Why I enjoy teaching:

I absolutely love learning with my students and being a part of their journey. I enjoy diving into different concepts with my students and learning new things. Some of my favorite times are when students are able to prove to themselves that they can do something that they may not have been able to do before. It is important to me to help them recognize their own strengths and abilities.

Favorite Books:

There are a TON, but for now: Out of My Mind by, Sharon Draper

Interests & Hobbies:

CSU football games, reading, hiking, and paddle boarding!

What I love about my school:

I love being a Timnath Cub! I always look forward to the traditions that make Timnath special. The students, staff, and community are absolutely wonderful and I can’t wait for the adventures to come!

Favorite Quote:

I have a few!

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there” - Theodore Roosevelt

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” - Aesop

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up” - Vince Lombardi

“Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!” - Dr. Seuss

My Classroom
Courses Taught:

Anything and everything, fourth grade!

About My Classroom:

We are a great big family in my classroom! We learn new things, ask questions, read wonderful books, and most of all, have fun! Students are able to show how to be a good friend, how to learn from mistakes, and develop skills like having a growth mindset, independence and organization.
