I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Teaching is in my blood, both my parents were teachers and my brother is as well. I moved to Fort Collins to attend college at CSU for my undergraduate. That is where I met my husband. I continued my education after my undergraduate at DU and earned a Masters Degree in Education. I began my teaching career at Centennial Elementary in Greeley. After seven years there I made the switch to Timnath. My husband and I have a son (Jack) and a daughter (Siri).
BA in English Literature from CSU
MA in Curriculum and Instruction from DU
I enjoy teaching because it gives me the opportunity to help students become life long learners. I also love the challenges teaching presents because it pushes me to continue learning.
I am a book lover. I love many adolescent literature books. I love Bridge to Terabithea, Stargirl, and The Fault in Our Stars. I am also in a bookclub so I'm always reading new books.
I enjoy spending time with my family when I am not working. We like to camp, hike, ski and take bike rides. We also love to spend time in Steamboat on my parents' farm relaxing.
I love the long history of Timnath Elementary. This is a truly unique school with traditions that aren't found in many schools today. I also love the community at Timnath, it is very supportive.
Life is like an ever shifting kaleidoscope: a slight change and all the patterns alter. Sharon Salzberg
My classroom is a spaced filled with learning while having fun. Don't be surprised to hear us laughing as you walk by! I strive to have a classroom that allows students to learn independence and discover their own strenghts.
