About Me
Biographical Sketch:

This is my sixth year teaching, and my third year as a part of the Timnath family. I grew up in the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado where my family has a potato farm. I moved to Fort Collins in 2007 to attend CSU, and I fell in love with this beautiful area. I left Fort Collins in 2011 in order to go back to school so that I could become a teacher. I received my elementary license from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. I spent the first three years of my teaching career at a rural school in the San Luis Valley. While at this school, I spent my first year in a second grade classroom before looping up with my class and teaching third grade for the next two years. In 2016 I received the opportunity to teach at Timnath, and happily moved back up to this area. I have been teaching second grade for the past two years, and I absolutely love it.

Educational Background:

I received a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University in 2010. In 2013, I completed an elementary licensure program from Colorado Mesa University to obtain my elementary teaching license. I went back to CMU for graduate school and received my Master's of Arts in Education in 2017.

Why I enjoy teaching:

I have always loved working with children. I love getting to see students find what they are passionate about, and it is so rewarding to watch a student accomplish a goal they have set for themselves.

Favorite Books:

A Wrinkle in Time

Anything by Chris Van Allsburg or Roald Dahl

Interests & Hobbies:

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, camping, and hiking. I love traveling to new places, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

What I love about my school:

I love the sense of community at Timnath Elementary School. It has been such a wonderful experience getting to work here with the students and families.
