I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ.
I wanted to be a teacher as long as I can remember, and I have always enjoyed working with children. I have been lucky enough to teach 2nd grade for 11 of my 13 years of teaching. It never gets old when you witness a student learning something new. I also really value the relationships built with the children each year.
Reading was a struggle for me when I was younger. I would have rather done pretty much anything than pick up a book and read. As I got older I started reading the Harry Potter books and they turned me on to reading.
As a mom and a teacher I love books that make me laugh, and I love a good picture book. Even though reading was hard for me I now really enjoy my read aloud time with my class.
